Test don’t guess!
Advanced Functional Labs to Uncover the Root Cause.
Standard blood tests are designed to find disease, but functional testing is designed to find dysfunction. If you’ve been told your results are “normal” but you still don’t feel right, functional testing allows us to look deeper into your unique biochemistry to identify exactly why.
By analysing markers for gut health, hormonal balance, and nutrient status, we move away from generalised advice and toward a precision-led protocol tailored entirely to you.
From vitamin and mineral levels to hormone balance, thyroid function, DNA nutrigenomics and digestive health, these tests provide the data we need to create a truly targeted plan.
How Functional Testing Helps You
Functional labs provide the data needed to stop the “trial and error” approach to your health.
We use these insights to:
- Identify Gut Imbalances: Go beyond standard IBS labels with comprehensive stool and breath testing (SIBO, parasites, and microbiome diversity).
- Map Your Hormones: Use advanced urine and saliva mapping (like the DUTCH test) to understand the full picture of your stress and sex hormones.
- Pinpoint Deficiencies: Discover cellular-level nutrient gaps that a standard blood count might miss.
- Understand Your Genetics: Use Nutrigenomics to see how your DNA influences your response to food, caffeine, and exercise.
Why it Helps
- Identifies nutrient deficiencies or imbalances.
- Helps identify the root cause of symptoms
- Supports early detection and prevention.
- Tailors nutrition and lifestyle advice more precisely.
Deep-Dive Health Diagnostics
Functional lab testing allows us to look beyond conventional medicine. While standard tests focus on diagnosing disease, functional testing aims to identify underlying imbalances and dysfunctions in the body’s systems before they become chronic issues. This approach allows us to address the root causes of your symptoms rather than just managing them.
Convenient, Professional & Precise For your convenience, many of these advanced assessments—including stool, breath, and DNA analysis—are completed in the comfort of your own home with easy-to-use kits. These tests provide deep insight into your digestive function, microbiome balance, nutrient status, hormone health, inflammatory markers, and genetics.
Luanne is a registered practitioner with the world’s leading functional laboratories, including INVIVO/Microba, Genova Diagnostics, KBMO Diagnostics, Regenerus Laboratories, Lifecode GX, and Nationwide Pathology. These insights are the foundation of your precision nutrition protocol.
How it Works: From Sample to Strategy
Home Collection Kits
Most functional tests, including stool, breath, and DNA analysis, are completed in the comfort of your own home with easy-to-use kits provided by the laboratory.
In-Clinic Blood Draws
If your chosen test requires a venous blood sample (such as the Well Woman/Man screens or certain metabolic panels), I provide a professional collection service at my private clinic in Market Harborough. As a CQC-registered phlebotomist, I ensure your samples are processed with clinical precision, including on-site centrifugation where required.
Functional Testing
Functional lab testing involves assessing various biochemical, metabolic, and genetic markers to provide a comprehensive overview of health status. Unlike conventional lab tests that often focus on diagnosing diseases, functional lab testing aims to identify underlying imbalances and dysfunctions in the body’s systems. This approach emphasises the prevention and treatment of diseases by addressing the root causes rather than just symptoms.
These advanced forms of testing are sometimes recommended to clients to gain a deeper insight into an individual’s digestive function, microbiome balance, nutrient status, hormone imbalances, inflammatory markers, heavy metal toxicity, genetics and more.
Luanne is a registered practitioner with some of the top functional testing companies, including INVIVO/Microba, Genova Diagnostics, KBMO Diagnostics, Regenerus Laboratories, Lifecode GX, Nationwide Pathology and more..
